Even Adi is perplexed (as you can see in her photo) as to why we have been home for so long...particularly since we have been home and she is not able to go on many walks. Bryan braved the snow on Friday and took her around the block. Today (Saturday) I took her and tried to stay in his tracks. Finally, this afternoon the temperature got to the low 40's and the big thaw was on. Adi and I walked again this afternoon and pretty much avoided snow altogether if we stayed on the sidewalk.
I love this picture for 2 reasons. 1--she looks confused which fits how she's been feeling this week. 2--this is the best photo I've ever gotten of her up-close without one of us holding her or baiting her with a treat. We've been taking another training class with her and her "sit-stay's" have gotten a lot better. Last week at class the teacher wanted to take a picture of her because of how funny she sits. She put her in a "sit-stay" to get a good picture. Bryan and I both exclaimed "Ohhh" because she was so brilliant to think of that idea to get a good picture. So, of course with all of our free time this week I had to try it myself. Great idea, Maureen! Unfortunately, even Adi had a snow day at her school today due to the bad roads.
In other news, I think the whole Metroplex has cabin fever. Today was the first day most people could get out (after 4 snow days in a row) so the movies and the mall were packed. How do I know...because we of course had to get out in it too! Unfortunately, I think the Super Bowl has really suffered. This is the first time it has ever been here in Dallas, and I'm worried that it will be the last due to the bad weather. Tons of fans have had trouble getting here due to delayed/cancelled flights. And the big parties and outdoor activities have had low attendance due to the roads being so bad and people not wanting to hang out outside in the cold. But, the weather is supposed to be good tomorrow for the actual game, so that will be good.
