Spring Break

We are down to the last few hours of Spring Break, and I need to check off at least one more thing from my Spring Break to-do list...update the blog. Lots has happened since the Christmas posting and I'm sure I've already forgotten some of the finer points, so I wanted to document at least a few things.
New Years day we were up at at 'em early for Bryan to run in a half-marathon in Allen. Maybe we will plan better next year and run in the one on New Year's Eve as well as New Year's Day to close 2012 and open 2013 more athletically. It was a cold morning, but a fun way to start the new year.

Over MLK weekend, I got to travel to Minneapolis to see Avery's law school graduation. Here he is shaking hands, getting his diploma, and about to get his hood placed on him. We were really proud of him! Law school is no small feat, especially while working full time.

We took a ton of pictures, but here is one of all of us right after the ceremony. I was glad to be able to make the trip to celebrate such a milestone for Avery, and it was also fun for us to spend more time with Christina. We are really excited about the upcoming wedding...I can't believe it's almost here!

February was full of soccer! Bryan's teams are doing well...they offically clinched a play-off spot for varsity and will wrap up district play this week. The JV team is much improved and are a really neat group of kids.

We've had a big week for Spring Break! Seth got to spend a couple of nights with us on his way back to Amarillo and then back to Stephen F. Austin, and we really enjoyed that. Mom and Dad spend a couple of nights with us on their way to Florida and then on the way back home. We got to manage the Beck Bed and Breakfast, but didn't get to make any trips of our own. We did manage to go bowling once, caught a movie, took a lap around the outlet mall with Mom and Dad, caught a minor league hockey game (thanks, Jean!), slept late, and I finished the Stephen King book I've been working on since Thanksgiving! We both spent a little time at school this weekend as well trying to figure out what the plan was for this week at school. Every year I am amazed by how fast things go after Spring Break, and as I worked on lesson plans yesterday I realized this year would be no different. I think the countdown is on!

Of course, no blog posting would be complete without a couple of pictures of Adi. Monday I took her to the vet for a check-up. On the way out I opened the trunk of the car to put in a bag of dogfood. Before I even realized what she was doing, she jumped in the trunk! Who knew those little legs could jump that high! She is so funny and adds so much to our lives.

I'm not exactly sure what she's looking at here, but I'm sure she's thinking deep thoughts. I love how she's leaning.
